Venue: The Recital Hall About the artists: Mowna Ramachandra is a promising young Hindustani classical vocalist from Bangalore. She has trained extensively under the expert tutelage of the renowned Gwalior & Kirana Gharana exponent Sangeetha Ratna Pandit Arjunsa Nakod in Dharwad, Karnataka. Mowna secured the 1st rank in the Vidwat examinations conducted by the Government of Karnataka in 1993. She has won several other awards and scholarships. Mowna has been an All India Radio artist for several years and has peformed at several places in India and abroad. Mowna is an engineer by profession and lives in Dallas, TX. Mohan Bhide has been playing the harmonium since he was six. He has learnt music from Late Sri Balasaheb Mate and Late Sri Govindrao Patwardhan. Mohan has accompanied many renowned vocalists in India and abroad including Sanjeev Abhyankar, Shubha Mudgal, Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, to name a few. He is a software consultant by profession and lives in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Allalaghatta Pavan is a Research Scientist by profession and an avid Tabla player and teacher in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN. He received training in Tabla from Sri Gandam Laxmiah of Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, who was the seniormost disciple of the renowned Tabla Nawaaz Ustad Sheikh Dawood Khan, the Farrukhabad/Lucknow Gharana supremo. Over the years Pavan has also received training from Sri Gopal Mishra, Pandit Vijay Shankar, Sri Ambika Prasad Mishra, Sri Rajendra Nakod and Pandit Birju Maharaj. Pavan regularly accompanies artists of Indian classical and light classical music residing in and visiting the Twin Cities from time to time. He also teaches Tabla.
