Anupama then came under the tutelage of Pandit Bimalendu Mukherjee, a renowned master of the famous Imdadkhani Gharana (and father and teacher of Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee, one of India's finest Sitar players), who taught her the Gayaki (vocal) style of Sitar playing. She has completed the Sangeet Visharad degree and holds a master's degree in music. She received the prestigious Surmani title from the Sur Sringar Samsad in Bombay, and was awarded the National Scholarship for Music from the Ministry of Human Resources Development, India. Anupama has bagged top honors in music competitions across India and has performed to critical acclaim at major music conferences in India and the United States. She resides in Dayton, OH.
